Founded in 1931 through a visionary partnership between architects Herbert Sprotte and Peter Neve, the Tchoban Voss Architekten studio has constantly worked to push the boundaries of architecture beyond the contemporary. The turning point in studio’s history happened between 1970 and 1974, when architects Alf M. Prasch, Wolfgang Nietz, and Peter Sigl became part of the first group of designers, bringing with them a new vision to the firm. After a series of important projects, Sergei Tchoban and Ekkehard Voss became partners in the studio in 1995, taking on leadership positions. Since 2009, the demands of a variety of projects have required further management changes. This has seen the studio expanding and welcoming new partners. In 2017, the studio adopted the name Tchoban Voss Architekten as a hallmark of a new change. Today, with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, and Dresden, and a highly skilled, interdisciplinary team of over 180 professionals, the firm continues to shape the built environment, working with both public and private clients internationally.
